I. Guild Motto: "Play smarter, not harder"
While we expect all raiders to play with 100% effort, we also expect you to play intelligently. If you make a mistake, admit it, fix it, and don't repeat it. Not only do you fail yourself by making repeated mistakes, you're most likely causing your raid or group to fail.
II. Mission Statement
In Datus Mortalis, we expect everyone to act in a mature, friendly manner to everyone around them. Whether you conisder yourself hardcore or casual, new or old, we expect you to treat everyone with respect within and outside of the guild.
III. Guild Rules
Rule #1: Treat everyone with respect
As mentioned above, we expect you to treat EVERYONE with respect. While we all appreciate a joke every so often, there are times where it goes too far and becomes unacceptable. If you feel threatened or offended by a guild member, contact the guild master or an officer. Please do not start unneccesary arguments in guild or raid chat - things such as politics and religion come to mind. Just because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't mean they're wrong.
Rule #2: The "No Drama" Rule
An extension of rule #1, we do not want to see any form of drama within the guild - this includes fellow members and people on the server. If we see you causing problems with anyone, you will be demoted to Probation - a rank in which you cannot use guild chat. Once you've apologized in some manner, you will be returned to your previous rank. If you continue to cause problems, you will be kicked from Datus.
Rule #3: Have fun with the game
World of Warcraft is a game, and it shouldn't be something that ruins your everyday life. If you feel as if you're being forced to raid, or you stop having fun, then simply stop playing and step away for a bit. We expect everyone to be playing with 100% focus, we also expect you to have fun.
Rule #4: Real Life > WoW
If something comes up in your life, we understand. You shouldn't be avoiding things like work or school in order to play the game. If you need to be away during scheduled raid times, then use the Leave of Absence forums or contact a ranking member of your raid team in order to inform them. While we do respect you, you also need to respect that 24 other people rely on you to show up, and a proper LoA notice allows the raid team to work around your absence.
Rule #5: Know the chain of command
The chain of command in Datus is Guild Master, Officers, Raid Leaders, Role Leaders, Raiders, Members. The guild master (Nejji) has the final say on any important decision regarding Datus as a whole. Officers (Vanderhuge, Zurak), have the power to invite/remove members, and operate the website. Raid Leaders can invite and promote people, and are in charge of ensuring that their respective raids run smoothly. Raid Leaders can appoint Role Leaders, and their job is to ensure that those within their roles are prepared for individual encounters, and if applicable, assist with Loot Council. Raiders are those who raid, and Members are social members.
If there's a problem within a group or raid that cannot seem to be resolved - try seeking help from one of the officers or the GM - they're all willing to help.
Rule #6: The "18 Year Old" Rule
We expect all raid members to be at least 18 years old. No exceptions.
